How solar works
Solar electric systems, or photovoltaics (PV for short), convert sunlight to electricity that can be used to supplement or replace the electricity supplied by the utility grid. PV panels are most commonly installed on rooftops or as power plants.
As a leading manufacturer in the photovoltaic industry, REC's production starts with the raw material; silicon. The process of transforming this material into high-performance solar panels has several stages. To learn more about the stages in the photovoltaic production process, please view our animation and a short film.
