World record with REC multicrystalline wafers
Researchers at the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) have produced solar modules with the highest efficiency that has ever been achieved for modules using multi-crystalline silicon wafers from REC Wafer.
The new world record is 16.4 percent module aperture efficiency. ECN achieved this with a combination of a new cell design with all contacts on the rear side of the cell and a new module design.
ECN, REC Wafer, and several other European solar companies have cooperated in the research and development in the EU financed Crystal Clear project.
